About Me
My name is Arjun Gohil, and I am the founder of Arjun Customs. Arjun Customs offers shoe artwork, as well as printed and original drawings, but it wasn’t always like that.
I started this business when I was 12 years old, during the Covid-19 pandemic. I was bored and decided I wanted to do something different. I had been seeing a lot of videos online showing the interesting artwork people have been working on, and that sparked an idea inside of me. I immediately asked my parents if I could go to the store to buy a pair of blank white canvas shoes for me to draw on, and after some hesitation they finally agreed. We went and I bought the shoes, so excited to start drawing.
When I got home, I just started sketching everything out. My plan was to draw whatever came to my mid, filling the whole shoe with random little things. I didn’t have access to nice materials meant for shoes, so I used sharpies, which worked surprisingly well, only they didn’t last for too long.
After finishing them, I sent pictures to all of my family and friends, and they all thought they looked really cool. My younger cousin decided she wanted a pair for herself, and I decided that this would be a fun way to start making some money. They sent me the shoes, requesting me to paint princesses, rainbows, and butterflies. I did just that for the measly price of $10.
After this pair, My family told me I should start a business and I did just that. I started to reach out to more people, selling customized shoes left and right. It came to the point where I needed to develop a business model. Thats when I came up with “Street Shoe Artist.” from here, I further developed my business, improving my materials and reaching out to a larger audience.
Eventually, I decided my business standards were too low and wanted to remodel my business. During this remodeling process, I upgraded my medium, my canvas, my website, and started a social media platform on Instagram (@arjun_customs). I also began selling prints and original artworks in my comic-art style.
Ever since then, I have been working on further developing my business and reaching out to new customers, who are interested. I have spent countless hours working on countless pairs of shoes and have no plan of stopping in the future. I see great potential in my business and I hope you would too.
